Jana Michel earned her BS in Accounting and Information Systems and her MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduate school, she began working as a consultant in internal audit, risk and compliance for KPMG in Portland, Oregon. A couple years later, she relocated to Eugene for a more balanced family/work life and began working for Kernutt Stokes doing audit, tax, and consulting. Jana was also a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Emerald Valley during her time in Eugene.
Ms. Michel has primarily been involved with audit, review, and compilation engagements for private industry clients. She has experience in multiple industries including manufacturing, construction, professional services, forest products, and transportation. Jana is a licensed CPA in the state of Oregon and a Certified Internal Auditor through the Institute of Internal Auditors.
When Jana started snowboarding in 2011, she fell in love with the mountains. With family in Bend and her desire to be closer to the mountains, moving to Bend was an easy decision for her family. Jana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping, boating, snowboarding, and playing softball.
